Why We Choose Organic
Organic has been part of Naad Organics from the very beginning.
When we first began formulating, we made a conscious decision to choose organic plant oils, herbs and botanicals wherever we could. It was not simply a label we wanted to attach to our products. It came from the quality of the ingredients themselves.
During those early years, working closely with raw materials taught us something that has stayed with us. When we compared organic ingredients with their conventionally grown counterparts, we could often see, smell and feel a difference. Their colour could be richer, their natural aroma more distinctive, their texture different and, in our formulations, we often preferred the way they performed.
That experience shaped the way we formulate today.
Grown with a different approach
Organic farming works more closely with natural growing systems. The use of manufactured fertilisers is prohibited and pesticide use is highly restricted, with organic growers instead relying more heavily on methods such as crop rotation, healthy soils, biodiversity and natural pest management.
For us, this matters because every beautiful botanical ingredient begins long before it reaches one of our bottles. It begins with the soil, the plant and the way that plant has been grown.
The quality within the plant
Plants naturally contain a complex mixture of fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants and other botanical compounds. Research comparing organic and conventionally grown crops has also found higher concentrations of a number of antioxidant compounds in organically grown crops.
We don’t believe that the word organic alone makes a skincare product better. The quality of the raw material, how it is processed, how fresh it is and how thoughtfully it is formulated all matter too.
That is why our approach is not about chasing a label. It is about starting with the best ingredients we can find and interfering with them as little as possible.
A choice we continue to make
Years later, we still choose organic for the same reason we did at the beginning: because when you work with ingredients closely enough, their provenance matters.
From saffron and sesame to amla, rose and the botanical oils that form the foundations of our formulations, we want the plants we use to arrive with as much of their natural character and integrity intact as possible.
For Naad Organics, supporting organic is therefore more than an ingredient preference. It is part of a slower, more considered way of making skincare, one that begins with respect for what is grown and continues all the way to what we make by hand.
