I still remember that hot afternoon when I was 13 years old at our Shergarh home in Punjab, India. My mother was sitting under the shade of the old Neem tree and I was playing around her. She whispered a holy song in my ear, and this filled me with joy. Suddenly I saw my father coming towards us with a painful expression on his face as he had been bitten by an insect on his arm whilst farming. My mother saw this and in a second she plucked some Neem tree leaves from a branch and started healing the sore skin area of my father.
